Who will join POTUS nominee Biden on the Democrat ticket as VP?

I always love the BS “presidential rankings” which issue forth routinely from self serving uber-liberal sources. What a crock!!

They do offer other lefties something to quote, though. It’s the left conversing with the left . . . . . all 100% gibberish.

I would think that if Wikipedia leans left, it’s a representation of how the population leans. After all, it’s free and anyone can edit it. I came across that page by accident and it has lots of different sources, including your favorite Rassmussen. To call it BS and self-serving uber-liberal source without even looking at it is the real crock!

Yeah ok but what the heck is PS###?

Lincoln is turning in his grave while watching what has become of his party. He would have almost certainly been a Democrat probably since the 1960’s, maybe even earlier.

How obviously in error you are.

All it is is representation of how people who post to Wikipedia lean.

It’s a big country out here, outside of your California bubble. And millions of us agree with very few of your viewpoints.

Deal with it.

Note how I said “I would think”, I did not state it as fact.

But your statement is true. I’m amazed at how logical you can be, while being so illogical at other times.

Oh I am. But there are millions of us who agree with very few of your viewpoints, and you seem to be having a hard time dealing with that while telling everyone else to deal.

It’s first light here now. The sun will be up shortly.

It’ll be several hours before the sun commences once again incinerating California.

Life in the provinces can be so . . . uh . . . illuminating.

(not)

It wouldn’t be so hot if the rest of the world had our emissions standards (or better).

I stand for traditional American values . . . going WAY back.

The left stands for the values of the USSR, Red China, and Cuba . . . . all failures going back not far at all by comparison.

Jeez dude I’ve posted a long post above about all the other countries that are NOT USSR, Red China, or Cuba that have it better than USA in one respect (health care). You keep painting everyone on the left as communists even though it’s patently false.

The earth is warming. The solution I found is to live in a location which has “cold to give”. That is to say, in a warming situation overall it is best not to commence operations (i.e., one’s life) in a venue which is rather warm at the outset.

Here where I live, quite honestly, the weather has been rather beautiful for a long time . . . with no end to the pleasant weather in sight.

Yes, I read your remarks about all the hell holes you have visited, with a couple of possible exceptions, and admired.

What I always wonder about such folks as yourself is why, since you admire so much countries outside the USA, why you do not simply pick up and move there.

But then I catch myself and realize you’ve already done that: you live in California.

Sure. Most people have circumstances that prevent them from just packing up and moving. We end up where we end up for a reason. I live close enough to the Pacific Ocean to get the fresh and cool ocean breeze. It’s pretty nice 50 weeks of the year. You get snowed in, we get a couple of weeks of scorching heat. The grass is always greener on the other side.

It’s not my first choice now, but like I said, circumstances led me here and I’m not in a position to leave. Not now anyway. Maybe I’ll retire somewhere near the Oregon/Washington border to save on taxes. Or heck, upstate NY is pretty nice too. Or maybe Canada or New Zealand.

I last flew in to CA in the 1980s, though prior to that I had done so on multiple occasions. The smog was so thick I nearly began coughing just viewing it. On the ground . . . well . . . I was like “what the hell am I doing here breathing this s***”.

Cleaner air is better air. The secret to clean air, in CA and elsewhere, too:

Low population density

Works every time.

The LA smog of the 80’s is legendary. But what you should know is that ever since CA instituted stricter environmental requirements (than the EPA) I believe in the early 90’s, the air is much, much cleaner than it was back then. And it’s as clean as it gets anywhere else in the country (with the exceptions of the huge swaths of land downwind from the smokestacks of coal-fired plants and other polluters – I’m talking about the rust belt here) if you’re close enough to the beach (which I am). Population density is one way; environmental restrictions or a cleaner / greener economy is another.

I think I did post, a while back, about that inexpensive oceanfront land . . . . . . . on the south coast of Newfoundland, though, not in CA.

Yes you did. Too far from Montreal (been there too!). Personally I wouldn’t want to live out in the boonies, even on a beach. I need the culture, cuisine, and tolerance of big, multicultural cities.

Perhaps the world warms up enough and those areas become more populated before my retirement.

Seems to be happening.

A Democrat maybe, up to about 10 years ago. Then he would’ve just shot himself.

The point is that outside of extremely dense areas, “environmental restrictions” have very little practical effect on anything except costs.

You got that right. It was 100+ at 10pm last night. Where I live we usually get the Bay coastal breezes early evening. (not last night) In spite of the incinerating heat in the day it always cools down after dark. Just open up the house & relax.

In most area’s of CA you can’t leave your windows open, for fear of vandalism. But in my backyard & front yard I’m well protected with my hombres. (that’s what I call my dogs)

Yes some of us are tied down to CA & it’s terrible politics, but life goes on.
