Alliant Credit Union

I have not yet been charged. I think my month is August.

If they do charge me I will be on the telephone to them pronto.

Seems to me you are entitled, at the very least, to a partial refund. But if you don’t ask you don’t get.

On adding additional Transfer accounts. Wondering if Alliant would allow a person to delete a few old accounts?
Resetting your Transfer Account number…

Those folks who have been members for many years certainly have old accounts that could be eliminated.

I’d only try if you don’t need the account. Other times a bank has added such a limit, they grandfathered existing links, but you had to get below the new maximum before you could add a new one. And sometimes it includes a lifetime limit, regardless of how many links you have currently.

I completely agree. But it is unfair for Alliant once again to make these sorts of pivotal changes in secret. I am a very active Alliant member but I received no notice whatsoever of this new limit to linked accounts.

Apparently doing things in secret is the new Alliant modus operandi. They make important changes in secret, kick members out without adequate explanation . . . . . . who knows what will come next!

The change I would like to see is the return of Mr. Moody and the expulsion of this new Alliant president.

As part of the changes to the Alliant Visa Signature card structure, the following conditions have been published:

“1. Qualifying eligible purchases include purchases for retail goods and services. Cash back is earned on the net retail purchase transaction volume (i.e., purchases less credits, returns and adjustments) purchased on your Alliant Cashback Visa Signature card. Net purchases are rounded to the nearest dollar and are subject to verification. If a transaction is subject to a billing dispute, the cash back value of the transaction in question may be deducted from the cash back total during the dispute period. If the transaction is reinstated, the cashback will also be reinstated. Cash back is not eligible on finance charges, fees, cash advances (including purchase of crypto currency and foreign currency), convenience checks, Debt Protection charges, PIN-based purchases, payment of existing card balances, balance transfers, ATM transactions, Interlink processed transactions, purchases of and any fees paid towards gift cards, pre-paid cards, re-loadable cards, or payments made for payment instruments that can readily be converted to cash (for example, travelers’ cheques, money orders, wire transfers, lottery tickets, casino gaming chips, off-track betting, wagers) or impermissible purchases such as purchases made for business purposes.”

I did some research on the Interlink thing . . . think it’s OK and not seeing a problem there.

Yes! Alliant knows! They are refunding the fee if it was charged recently.

I had such an instance with PurePoint. I don’t remember their limited number of Transfers allowed.
After I reached that amount they issued a hold.

I called an requested an extension. Their reply was to delete a few & then I could add more.

Worked out! (but Alliant is a different cat)

No it does not work. I tried it.

Based on shinobi’s DP, looks like max is between 31 and 41 accounts.

Do we need to contact them to get the $99 back? Or will it be automatically refunded? My fee was just charged on 5/5.

I was told they will be doing pro-rated refunds for fees paid in May and June, so it doesn’t appear you’ll get $99 – though you might get $82.50.

They might expand the date of the fee refund. Perhaps if you don’t see it by the end of July, it may be worth giving them a call.

I called and did a product change this morning, when she read the disclosures, there was nothing about an annual fee being charged despite it being before July.

There’s no fee right now for new cardholders or even existing cardholders but those who have already been charged the fee are probably not getting the refund until July.

Get new card now? Yes, no fee.

Already paid fee? Probably at least several weeks before you see a prorated refund and this only for fees paid in May and June.

TJ…can i assume that the credit line on your Platinum Rewards that you did the Product Change with had a credit of $10,000 or greater? Just curious…as they told me i couldn’t product change if my card line was less than that…

It appears so. I have a 15k limit. I converted it from the Signature to the Platinum Rewards when they jacked up the fee, so I’m simply converting it back…

Thanks…i thought that might have been the case…
I’m stuck because my credit line is $7500 and they wouldn’t give me the $2500 increase i needed to do the conversion…

Looks like Alliant is using plaid now for external accounts, which is a plus I guess.

Hmmmm. Wonder if that’s the reason funds I ACHed yesterday to Keesler, from Alliant, arrived the same day. I was surprised.

But confused.

That’s interesting. Haven’t experienced this before but I haven’t made any outgoing transfer in a while.

I just (~9.05am ET) submitted an outgoing transfer to see if I also get the same day ACH. What time did you enter the withdrawal request yesterday?

Hasn’t Alliant been mentioning same-day transfers for years? The reports have been sporadic, and I think it requires some kind of cooperation from the receiving bank to actually arrive same-day. But it’s definitely been mentioned before.

Doubt it’s because of plaid unless you reauth’d the account with plaid. Most likely the reason glitch99 mentioned.
