I mostly listen to conservative talk radio and I have not heard any commercials there. I do like to listen to the weather report on the local news and I’ve seen one ad by Warren. She is not a likable person even for Democrats so I do not see it as persuasive,
They are desperately trying to tie the recall to President Trump but as the article says it’s not working. At least by the polls. And we all know how reliable they were during the last election/sarcasm.
Kathy Hochul is almost certain to be primaried by a downstate New Yorker . . . . . and she easily could lose. NYC denizens do not cotton to the notion of any person from the Niagara frontier running NY State.
While I hope Kathy prevails, it will be a tough slough.
Lawyer. Former member of Congress (one term). Long time office holder where she is from (Buffalo region).
Kathy is a solid Democrat. Period. But she is not at all a NYC style Democrat, a la AOC for example. She is not a nut case or a Marxist.
Hence her ability to survive in NY State politics today is questionable . . . . . . unless she turns hard left.

Kathy could be the first NY Governor who actually roots for New York’s sole NFL football team, the Bills, instead of cheering for those two New Jersey teams, the Giants and the Jets.
You just dont get it, closing the poll. You need to leave it open, so the ballot box can be stuffed with the correct votes, so the results can be clear that we knew what would happen all along…
She will definitely be primaried, but probably not because of her politics … solely because she’s from beef on weck country. Also, I’ll give her a pass on the following from her bio page, because her website was probably written by the Democrat party.
her victory, was viewed as a national referendum on Paul Ryan’s agenda to bankrupt Social Security and Medicare. Despite risking her reelection, Kathy always fought to protect the Affordable Care Act, a woman’s right to choose, and the rights of our LGBTQ community.
As a life long, die hard Bills fan myself, I was quite pleased when the fanbase kicked Cuomo to the curb during the playoffs last season. He limited attendance to 6500 or so fans during the playoffs, after having banned in person attendance during the regular season. He wanted to take one of those slots so the “deplorable” Western New Yorkers could thank their emperor from Albany properly, despite the fact that the guy couldn’t name a player on the team. Fans screamed bloody murder and he ended up cowering in the corner. I guess the thought of being booed was too much for him to handle.
I agree with you, Hochul is a center-left Democrat, but she is not a socialist, at least yet. It will be interesting to see if downstate politics sway her at all… I tend to think they will given her flip flop on illegals getting driver licenses. She was against it as Erie County Clerk, going as far as to suggest arresting those attempting it, only to be for it as Lt Gov.
Those are fighting words in these parts! Bon Jovi’s crusade to buy the Bills and move them to Toronto was thankfully thwarted by the Pegulas. They’ve been excellent owners despite the mess they’ve turned the Sabres into.
I remain able to see my vote, even though the poll is closed. If you voted your choice will display as a blue bar on the bar chart. 46% of our voters got this right.
It made sense to close the voting because as of yesterday the outcome became known when Cuomo agreed to step down later this month. Newsom cannot be voted out until the recall election next month. And I consider the likelihood of his resignation this month to be vanishingly small.
Hochul is asserting herself big time! Said in speech today she never was close to Cuomo personally, while she supports his policies generally. She said she will fire any members of Cuomo’s staff who did wrong.
This should be interesting. It indicates to me that Newsom is in a lot of trouble. I hope Biden does a press conference in California.
A source familiar with White House planning said both Biden and Harris intend to take an active role in the campaign’s homestretch. That could include in-person appearances and social media support.
