The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 1)

Ok folks, I got busted uphill.

Looking back, so long ago, actually I can’t remember what I said that was so offensive.
So to Bend3r, you did make me angry, but I will forget if you will. Probably won’t happen.
Forgive & forget…

So onward & upward… :relaxed:

There’s a lot of placating going on. Officials need to be seen doing something, anything to look like their are fighting racism.

For example, I just read that the statue of Christopher Columbus is going to be removed from in front of city hall in Columbus, OH. I wonder what they should rename the city next since it’s obviously inappropriate to have the capital city of the state named after such a hateful figure. LOL

Best to cover all bases would be to find some African explorer - preferably female and lesbian to be safe -, and rewrite history to pretend they paved the way for mass immigration of Europeans to the US. Or any other easy measure that doesn’t cost much but helps quiet down current unrest while simultaneously achieving nothing of substance for minorities in the country.

You spun some weird theory about graves being desecrated en masse.

Then you posted some white nationalist propaganda that falsely claimed it’s illegal for Confederate statues to ever be removed by the government and that they were equivalent to US war veteran monuments. And you got angry when called out for it (including a link to the actual law text that the propaganda referenced, and clear mention that it was an understandable mistake to repost false information, and that I was NOT implying you were part of the group that created the propaganda) rather than retracting your error.

Not sure what you got angry about. Definitely was not my intent to get you angry, sorry you felt that way.

There’s nothing to forgive or forget, you didn’t slight me. I didn’t take you saying I wanted to desecrate graves as any sort of personal attack, because it was nonsensical.

I oppose racism. I never had a chance with Hispanics, because there were no such applicants. But years ago, when it was up to me, I gladly hired black applicants twice. A third attempt by me was rejected by my boss . . . only time that ever happened. But we had no black employees at my facility before I broke that line. I didn’t give a damn about the guy’s skin color. I cared only about his ability, which was good as things turned out.

I did discriminate one time in all the years. Could not help myself and this will garner me no praise here. The applicant was white, which was irrelevant . . . because he was a Russian. In those days I was not a fan. Also, I simply did not like the guy . . . not at all. So I did not hire him. Give me a black American over a white Russian every time! :grinning:

There are so many valid reasons to loathe and detest a person, I’ve never made it to something as trivial as skin color.

Hee Hee

While the vacuous left continues to mock Trump’s Tulsa rally crowd size, it has come out that nearly eight million watched on Fox alone. That set a Saturday night record for the channel.

I watched, but not on Fox, to which I have no access. Betting many millions of others in my situation. Trump spoke for close to two hours non-stop. Biden would have trouble doing that for a quarter as long, without tripping all over himself and sounding like an amalgam of Porky Pig and Daffy Duck.

Trump used as excuse for small live crowd the protesters. I think not to a great extent. It was, instead, fear of the virus. Trump is running against the virus and the media. Biden is scarcely even a factor. How can he be . . . from his basement?

Repeating falsehoods doesn’t make them true. How does repeated false statements work on you? Maybe we need a study done, fake spray tans might cause a segment of the population to lend extra “credibility” to the person wearing the cosmetics mask.

He’s been traveling ever since the stay at home orders were lifted at the end of May. Lots of travel and compaign events in the last two weeks.

It’s one thing to subjectively say you don’t think the campaign events are useful or successful. (Maybe hiding in a bunker is more reasonable than meeting with a murder victim’s family. That’s a perfectly valid subjective opinion). It’s another to latch onto complete falsehoods ad nauseum.

Explanation for arena being 1/3rd full is kinda hard to be sure about. I definitely think COVID-19 played a role in it. Protesters outside? I doubt it. You’d have to have come to Tulsa to find out how much of a protest there was outside. At that point, would you really go home or soldier through and make it in?

One thing that may have discouraged some people more is the anticipated size of the crowd. I read a quote of 300k registered republicans RVSPed, so many may have expected to have to get in line hours in advance just to beat the crowds. Imagine the prospect of spending hours in line with even only say 100k other potential COVID-19 carriers… when the whole thing is gonna be on TV anyway? Truth is many people did the smart thing to watch from home rather than fight crowds in unsafe distancing conditions. I actually commend those - especially those older folks - for not showing up and putting their lives at risk needlessly.

Still after all the gloating of packing arenas, biggest crowd in history, and having to book a backup venue for the overflow crowd, the campaign deserves a bit of stick from the reality check. LOL

Thank you for proving my point. That CNN article you posted is dated 8 June. Biden did scarcely anything prior, and he has not exactly been tearing it up since the eighth.

Sleepy Joe Biden is the quintessential basement dweller. Credit where due: He knows his place.

Probably has a bed down there . . you know . . for naps! The guy is older than dirt.

I knew this ad looked familiar. Old as the hills!

His aide yesterday was asked why haven’t we seen Biden in 80 days? Chris Wallace asked her multiple times the same question. She refused to answer. Too bad, we need to see or hear him. It would make our day for a good laugh.

Dems + media keep pointing out the low amount of the crowd Saturday. 6-8000 good loving Americans were there, looked huge to me. Could Biden even fill a small building, 100 or so folks. Don’t think so…

And there is no need whatsoever to take my word for it. Here is a quote from my good friend, scripta, where he mentions Biden’s age:

Scripta is oft quoted, is seldom in error, and he certainly nailed that one beautifully and with consummate accuracy.

Good job and spot on analysis, scripta!!

So you’re admitting he has not just been in his basement the whole time? Or June 8 2020 is in the future in your world? And you’re suggesting he should have violated the law in May and not followed the state’s stay at home orders? Where is the Law and Order?

Like I said, there are subjective assessments that can fairly be made. That’s different than demonstrably false claims.

(And obviously he hasn’t held any “rallies” in direct violation of CDC and the current administration’s public health guidelines.)

You can’t even make up the headlines in today’s world

Those three things usually work together, but they are not synonyms and Socialism can exist without Communism (as Democratic Socialism in most of the developed world) in exactly the same way that Capitalism can exist without Democracy (China).

LOL. Are you referring to the famous Berlin Wall speech (1989)? That was neither the beginning nor the end of the USSR, it was somewhere in the middle. And shots were fired almost two years later in August of 1991, shortly before the end. I honestly don’t know how much he had to do with revolutions in Eastern Europe or election of Gorbachev, but I’m pretty sure Reagan can’t be assigned all the credit and he certainly had little to do with the bringing it to a close.

He also said that a Trump win was possible in 2016 (IIRC they had this possibility at 30% near the election). Anything that has more than 0% chance is possible.

Are you sure he was ethnic Russian? Just because someone speaks Russian, comes from Russia, or even has a Russian sounding name, does not mean they are Russian. As far as I know most “Russians” in America are actually ethnic Jews, who legally emigrated from former USSR because of pervasive persecution and discrimination. The only ways for an ethnic Russian to legally come to the US is via the visa lottery (very few overall), a work visa (high demand professions), or if they’re very wealthy ($500K minimum investment or whatever the rules are for coming to America if you’re rich). Almost forgot, there’s also mail-order-marriage  .

Yeah, real classy. Let’s make fun of someone’s actual disability (speech impediment). Your favorite candidate has a completely fake disability (bone spurs), he’s a criminal through and through.

Scripta, you’ve got spunk. And I like spunk!

Now of course your views and opinions are very wide of the mark. But that failing is easily overcome by your sheer, irrepressible, spunk!

You’ll have to elaborate. Cause if you can’t say where I’m wrong, it means I’m right. Also I added a couple clarifications to my post above after you replied, so please make sure to review those.

I don’t know. Are you still sure it’s fake now?

(Note the equal-opportunity joke about Biden only getting General Grant’s name right because he’s so old he was in the same high school class.)

You can probably add a limp wrists/hands disability with the inability to drink water with one hand. Although… I did see the first semi-reasonable explanation for the drinking problem (and the comical pursing of his lips before trying to drink). It’s likely an effort to avoid the orange makeup around his mouth getting washed off. That was probably pretty awkward a few times in the past with a circle of normal skin color around his mouth.

Naaa. I don’t wanna pick on you. One doesn’t do that to a friend.

Also I’m up to my neck is alligators just now . . . bigger fish to fry.
