The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 2)

Biden, McCarthy start debt ceiling talks as clock ticks to default (msn.com)

White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters on Monday that Biden plans to say at the meeting: “It’s Congress’ constitutional duty to act, to prevent default. The president is going to be very clear about that.”

So why is Biden then going to demand that Congress abidcate that duty? While it’s a big part of both side’s rhetoric, it’s clear that only one side actually believes it and takes that duty seriously. With the other side considering it a nuisance that should be ignored (with growing speculation that they in fact might literally just ignore it).

10% for the Big Guy, more details.

Summary: House Republicans laid out evidence of a vast network of Biden family dealings which reek of corruption - including;

  • The Biden family received, and tried to hide, over $10 million in payments from foreign nationals
  • A previously undisclosed $1 million in Romanian-linked payments
  • Ties to Romanian ‘influence peddling’
  • A ‘web’ of 20 LLCs created while Joe Biden was Vice President with a ‘complicated corporate structure’
  • ‘At least 15’ of the LLCs were formed after Biden became VP in 2009 - several of which were owned or co-owned by Hunter
  • These LLCs accepted payments ranging from $5,000 to $3 million
  • The committee wants to know what legitimate business the Biden family was in

This seems very fair. Unlike some, who turn questions directly into accusations, they are seeing ‘unusual’ stuff and asking for an explanation. I think we all know what they’re trying to imply, but at least they’re maintaining some resemblance of formality and due process rather than working backwards from the desired conclusion.

Racist crime stats got some coverage when Elon on tweeted approval for the facts on racial and interracial violence that the media very tries hard to ignore.

Some commentators

can you name a single white person who was murdered by a black person in the past five years? It’s kind of insane to consider the fact that Jordan Neely has literally received more media attention than the thousands of black on white murder victims over the past five years COMBINED.

If aliens arrived on Earth and looked at the murder stats in America, the first thing they’d note is how murderous the US is compared with every other developed country (largely, to my mind, because of so many guns). But the second thing they’d notice is surely this: so much murder committed by such a small, discrete population. It overwhelmingly affects those who live in neighborhoods where young black men live, which is why, as a new survey just found, by the age of 40 in the city of Chicago, “about 56% of Black respondents and nearly 55% of Latinos said they had seen someone else get shot, compared with nearly 26% of White respondents.”

This inequity — being subjected to constant, daily violence — is the one inequity the left appears uninterested in. (Just 17 percent of white liberals consider crime “an extremely important” issue, compared to 45 percent of black liberals — and 60 percent of black conservatives.) The violence African-Americans are now terrorized by every day is far higher than it was in 2020 — when the left came out in force to demand, yes, less policing and more lenience for violence. But to actually note the crisis in this sub-population, and to focus on it as the core problem, is deemed racist.

the myth of substantial white-on-black violence is so deeply embedded in the culture that it’s a storyline in network TV shows. I think it’s fair to ask people to take a position on it. If you dislike racists on Twitter focusing too much on black-on-white crime, know that they are closer to the truth than the race obsessives on the other side, and have a lot less power.

One odd thing about these calls for perspective is that when liberals say that intra-racial crime is more common than crime that crosses group boundaries, what they are essentially saying is don’t worry about black crime, because the victims are overwhelmingly black people. But wait! Since when are liberals uninterested in problems that disproportionately affect blacks? These are the people who write serious NYT think pieces about how national parks are too white. They now turn around and say, let’s not talk too much about murder, because blacks are the victims? It’s a very odd thing, and it’s hard for me to even steelman their lack of interest in solving this issue as they obsess over every other black grievance, real or imagined.

Dealing with the crime issue is complicated for reasons that go deep to the heart of the American psyche, which means there’s little hope that things will change any time soon. Until they do, we should continue to at the very least push back on the most malicious lies being told about race in America.

are you going to invest a hundred million dollars in the middle of the south side of Chicago?
Ken Griffin and Citadel picked up their multi-billion dollar hedge fund Empire and moved it to Miami from Chicago
because their employees didn’t feel safe on the streets downtown

who are committing those crimes?
now I think we have to get our heads out of the sand here
race relations will not get better through denial
there’s something profoundly wrong in the social fiber of a community
when that kind of behavior is commonplace

now did it get that way?
because people are bad people? no
am I a racial essentialist thinking that Black Culture
somehow fundamentally flawed? no

how did 7 in 10 kids born to a woman without a husband come to be ?
through complex historical Dynamics much of which had little to do with black people or Black Culture per se
but nevertheless the kid is 15 16 years old
the kid has a pistol
the kid is not parented
and there’s a thousand of them on the street
now that’s failure
that is a failure of the socialization of young people to the Norms of Civility
that are essential to the preservation of our way of life

Meanwhile north of the border, being black gets you special treatment by what used to be their Justice System and is now a Grievance System with more apologists for the criminals than their victims, at least if you’re not white. Examples include getting off with community service for manslaughter or time served instead of nearly a decade for armed robbery.

Things the Democrats are suddenly going to stop caring about altogether- sex trafficking victims and bad “books and records”.

Greene, as a committee member, is one of a handful of people authorized to view banks’ Suspicious Activity Reportsrelating to Hunter Biden and other family members.

The Committee is also concerned that Hunter Biden used his professional corporation for non-business related expenditures and did not maintain proper books and records. We are looking into all aspects of how Owasco P.C. was used to conceal payments to and from foreign nationals,” the statement continued. Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop contain hundreds of emails relating to Owasco and the company was often used to distribute cash payouts to him and his family.

On Wednesday, Comer revealed that Hunter and his family had operated more than 20 LLCs and taken in at least $10 million in foreign money, citing subpoenaed bank records he outlined in a 36-page memo.

Devin Nunes: Durham Probe Shows “DOJ And FBI Are Solely Owned By The Democratic Party And Their Propaganda Regime”

More analysis. FBI looks really bad.

The Durham Report has been released.

Here are some of the main findings:

  • “The FBI discounted or willfully ignored material information that did not support the narrative of a collusive relationship between Trump and Russia.”
  • Crossfire Hurricane “was opened as a full investigation without [the FBI] ever having spoken to the persons who provided that information.” Days after it was opened, Peter Strzok was telling a London FBI employee that “there’s nothing to this .”
  • Internal FBI communications discussing the Crossfire Hurricane during its early stages: it’s “thin” and “it sucks”.
  • British Intelligence pushed back on Mueller requests for assistance: “[a British Intelligence person] basically said there was no [expletive] way in hell they were going to do it.”
  • Durham documents TWO investigations into Hillary Clinton - one involving the Clinton Foundation and one involving illegal foreign contributions to Clinton’s Campaign.
  • In one Clinton Campaign investigation, an FBI confidential human source (CHS) had offered an illegal foreign contribution to the campaign through an intermediary. The Clinton Campaign was “okay with it” and “were fully aware”. The CHS offered the FBI a copy of the credit card charge; the FBI never got receipts. In fact, the FBI handling agent told the CHS “to stay away from all events relating to Clinton’s campaign.”

“The best way to get away with doing something is to accuse your opponent of doing it instead.”

Border? What border?

The head of U.S. Border Patrol has sent out a memo authorizing the release of illegal migrants into the U.S. without court dates if agents face overcrowding as the Biden administration scrambles to deal with a historic surge in migration at the border ahead of the end of Title 42.

The memo says that migrants can be allowed into the country on parole — a process typically reserved for “urgent humanitarian reasons or significant public benefit” — if Customs and Border Protection (CBP) faces overcrowding. The memo calls the practice “parole with conditions” as migrants are required to make an appointment with Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) or request a Notice to Appear by mail.

Under a parole release, migrants are rapidly released into the country, do not get an alien registration number and do not receive a court date.

I’m sorry, but didnt Chris Cuomo play a significant role in creating and embedding the narrative that the border/security wasnt an issue?

The regime is deliberately letting in millions of FDA’s, future Democrats of America. In a few years, with the help of Chamber of Commerce Republicans, they will pass “comprehensive immigration reform” to legalize and register them to vote.

The GOP proposal to raise the debt ceiling would force Americans on Social Security and Medicare to wait longer to receive help and make college more expensive, the White House says (msn.com)

I wish someone would call them out on this. If the plan is to return to 2022 spending - a mere one year ago, mind you - how out of control has spending been this past year for that to translate into a 30% cut?

Hillary vs Trump under the FBI eye

If the Durham report shows anything, it is that the FBI leadership bent over backward to protect Clinton’s campaign while launching a full investigation into Trump’s campaign on the thinnest of pretexts. In other words, the FBI was not really the Clinton campaign’s persecutor, as so many insisted over the past few years, as much as its protector.

“The speed and manner in which the FBI opened and investigated Crossfire Hurricane during the presidential election season based on raw, unanalyzed, and uncorroborated intelligence,” the Durham report observes, referring to the FBI investigation into the Trump campaign, “reflected a noticeable departure from how it approached prior matters involving possible attempted foreign election interference plans aimed at the Clinton campaign.”

I’d like to see an accounting of those expenditures. I’d bet anything there’s a lot of pre funding of partisan agenda items, so that there’s no cash left for truly essential government functions.

The government has the money to pay for essential items. The only question is whether the regime handlers decide it is in their best interest to cause chaos. They will try to pin it on the Republicans, but I think that would be a heavy lift for the left-wing media although I’m sure they would give it a try.

The financial markets are not concerned. The stock market is basically unchanged. The interest on short-term tbills has gone up about 25 basis points on a 5% base. The price of gold has actually come down.

Exactly. Pay for what they want with what remains, then blame Republicans for denying funding for what everyone truly needs.

Reasonably responsible trustees would’ve started conserving cash months ago, by cutting out all but the most essential spending. Instead, it’s business as usual until it all crashes and burns.

Not only past expenditures but the Republicans in the House want to see Yellen’s projected spending

I dont think you can question June 1, the math is what it is. If that’s the date she picked, that’s the day she can hit. It’s very easy to manage cashflow to ensure the spicket runs dry at a specific time.

The question to ask is where the cash is going in the weeks/months leading up to d-day, and why the wagons havent been circled to conserve cash long before now.

said he doesn’t think the White House appears to be urgently seeking a deal, which has caused him to doubt the legitimacy of the deadline.

Clearly, they see this as an opportunity to deal a death blow to the Republican Party. Frame the issue as a simply vote the Republicans are refusing to vote yes to, and completely gloss over all the reasonings and justifications for not just blindly increasing the debt limit. It amounts to a de facto coup d’etat. With the mainstream media firmly in their corner, it’s not out of the relm of possibilites that they pull it off. Who cares that it’s the Right who is actually trying to do their jobs of managing the nation’s finances - they’re Republicans, so they are inherently wrong.

This was a nice quote from the debt ceiling drama

McCarthy
“There are 9 days left for Democrats to meet the deadline, but since President Biden ignored this debt crisis for more than 100 days—make no mistake—any default would be the Biden Default”
