The 2020 USA POTUS election politics, the civil war, and the world war (Part 2)

Biden’s kind of folks are welcome, while the national guard are afraid to defend themselves against attacks by cartel smugglers at the border lest they be “made to pay” like those other border patrol guys who were guilty of impeding future Democrats without using whips.

National Guard soldiers say they have been unable to arrest the human smugglers when they reach the shoreline for fear of retaliation.

The unsettling activity at the border comes days after Border Patrol agents announced the arrests of a number of people last week who crossed the border illegally, including previously convicted sex offenders and an MS-13 gang member.

In a statement, the US Customs and Border Protection agency said Border Patrol agents in the Rio Grande Valley Sector arrested eight migrants crossing the border, including a Guatemalan man who had been convicted of sexual abuse in 2009.

Along with the Guatemalan man, agents arrested a Mexican man in Welasco, Texas, who had been convicted of sex offenses in California, Fox reports.

Then on Saturday, officials arrested a man in Sarita who had been in prison for more than 10 years for sexual abuse charges against a child in North Carolina.

Later in McAllen, agents apprehended four migrants, including a 28-year-old MS-13 gang member. It was followed by the arrest of a Gulf Cartel member near Progresso.

I think COVID danger excuse is bogus. Things are not markedly worse than say 2-3 months ago. Enhanced risk of COVID transmission from witness, when they can have a mask, and observe from 10 ft away, etc. seems like BS reason to me. The fact that Biden may be doing poorly is completely irrelevant to the voting rules.

That said, the requirement for having someone witness you filling the mail-in ballot is also nonsense. What if you live alone? You need to find someone who will witness you fill in your ballot? In my state - a red state -, there no requirements or excuses needed to request a mail-in ballot, and certainly no BS witness requirement about you voting by mail. And there’s not been any significant fraud without any witness requirements and that’s certainly not prevented GOP from winning every election for since 2010 redistricting.

Still, regardless of what I think of the pointlessly cumbersome requirement for a witness, once voting by mail is under way, asking to lift this requirement shouldn’t be allowed (or any other change). Circumstances for voting have not changed enough that it warrant emergency accommodation. This is not 2020 any more. If they wanted to change the rules, they should have requested it earlier before voting by mail opens so that the goalposts are not constantly changing.

Satire roundup. Lots of good ones this week, check below for more.

Biden viciously attacks persons of European heritage while uplifting and funding his beloved Taliban

In a virtual tour de force of anti-American venom, Biden has outdone even his past disgraceful outrages.

From Biden’s Columbus Day proclamation:

Today, we also acknowledge the painful history of wrongs and atrocities that many European explorers inflicted on Tribal Nations and Indigenous communities

western exploration ushered in a wave of devastation

theft of Tribal homelands, the introduction and spread of disease, and more. On this day, we recognize this painful past

From the AP:

The U.S. has agreed to provide humanitarian aid to . . . . Afghanistan on the brink of an economic disaster

The Taliban said the talks held in Doha, Qatar, “went well,” with Washington freeing up humanitarian aid to Afghanistan

Note:

The talks went well for the personal coffers of the Taliban leaders. The talks did not go well for already bankrupt America or for American taxpayers.

ETA

If the Taliban needs to raise money they should consider selling off some of the military equipment, worth tens of billions of dollars, Biden generously (purposefully?) left behind for them.

But I suspect they have other plans for that equipment, besides which Biden clearly remains in a generous frame of mind when it comes to giving our American money to the Taliban without our consent.

The end of Texas?

The greatness of Texas is legendary. But like the greatness of America herself, Texas is today groaning beneath dual threats. Everyone is aware already of Biden’s army of invaders from Central America, Haiti, and elsewhere.

Now a new threat: invaders from California.

I am old enough to remember when California was a magical, amazing, wonderful state, a place where dreams came true. Republicans were in control of California politics back then. Do not forget Ronald Reagan himself served two terms as California governor. It does not get a lot better than Reagan. Those were the halcyon days, the pinnacle of California greatness.

Today, without going into the horrid details, things are much different. Californians with great memories are seeking to re-live those days of yore . . . . . in Texas . . . . California itself now being beyond hope.

The problem for Texas mirrors that seen in years past when Californians sought shelter in Oregon and in the State of Washington: California people, too many of them anyway, carry their socialist/Marxist California thinking with them when moving elsewhere. The Marxist cancer is thereby spread widely to previously uninfected venues.

Ever since Sam Houston and his valiant troops defeated Santa Anna at the Battle of San Jacinto, Texas has been a really special place where freedom and liberty are celebrated. But all those newcomers, Californians and (sadly) likely soon the foreigners as well, vote or will be able to vote. And they have no stomach for freedom and liberty, preferring instead to vote for “free stuff”.

How long will the real, traditional, free Texans be able to hold off such an onslaught? I fear things are headed in a really bad direction. I understand why, way back in the 1800’s, the Republic of Texas sought to join up with the USA. But today the Lone Star State would be much better off were it once again independent, able to control its own borders and shut out the invaders.

There’s no proof of that because no one has investigated it. Integrity of the ballot and perception of the integrity of the ballot are crucial to the functioning of any democracy. If people think that the election is rigged the minority will not accept the purported majority’s decision

It is a truism that security is inversely proportional to convenience. Consider online access to your financial institution account on their website. You could get access simply by entering your name. And if all people are honest you might get away with that for a while. But most people agree this is bad idea.

And why is it that ease of voting is the highest goal? After all informed voting is our most sacred and important duty as citizens of our democratic republic. If someone will not bother to find a witness for their signature they will not educate themselves on the issues. So their vote will not lead to better government.

A good piece about how many top Democrats, academics, BLM activists, etc, aren’t trying to “reform” policing like they often claim. They just want to get rid of police entirely, or at least as much as possible. You’d think that would be crazy, but maybe they figure the rioting black shirts are their thugs and they’ll run the country on fear like they did last summer after the Canonization of Saint Floyd?

Anyway, it’s a careful look into lots of examples where the far left shows their true colors on the policing issues, including many who are now the DOJ or prominent nonprofits that are working with or overseeing police departments around the country.

My message for police chiefs, union leaders, and people who care about public safety is this: It’s time to wake up. The academics and activists pushing for “reform” want no such thing. They don’t want police to be more effective or build trust between police and the community. They don’t care about the murder rate or the well-being of your officers, and they don’t represent what people in your community actually think. You can work with them now — indeed, you may have no choice. But you should do so with the knowledge that whatever you give them today, they will come back yell “defund!” tomorrow. It doesn’t matter if you accept civilian oversight or eliminate excessive force, because they’re not against bad policing. They’re against policing.

I don’t really think we are having a debate about police reform in America right now. We’re having a debate about whether to even have police, and since that’s the case it’s entirely necessary and responsible to tell the public: “Hey, those guys are anarchists and want to defund the police.”

Excellent post, xerty . . . and so true. I blame Trump for this, at least in part. He was (and I suspect remains) unable to control certain aspects of his personality which caused millions of otherwise rational people, like @shandril for example, to vote for Biden. These are people for whom abolition of the police is manifestly unwanted. And they believed Biden when he told us, from his basement, that as POTUS he would be a centrist.

But we all see now that is far from the truth. Biden is instead governing as a Bernie Sanders clone. I believe had millions of voters known this they would have held their noses and voted Trump, or not voted at all. But it is too late now, and we will suffer through another thirty-nine months of this catastrophe. One wonders how much of traditional America will remain standing following Biden’s relentless attacks on our freedom and liberty.

Pursuant to the above post, it seems to me another significant jeopardy between now and January 2025 lies in the loss of Taiwan. Consider:

Under Obama in 2014, sensing weakness, Russia annexed Crimea. They still have it. Communists have a certain “spidey sense” when it comes to knowing when to act. They would never have dared any such thing with Trump in the big chair.

Over the interval of time between now and November of 2024, if the Red Chinese sense immanent return of Trump to power, they well might decide the “time is now” to move on Taiwan . . . while their weak and hesitant collaborator Biden remains in power. They know as was the case with Crimea, that once annexation of Taiwan becomes a fait accompli, there will be nothing Trump or anyone else can do to restore the status quo ante.

Democrat/Marxists not deterred by their "moderates"

The American mainstream media would have you believe Democrat “moderates” (Manchin and Sinema) are dealing a severe blow to the cause by opposing the outrageous spending plans favored by the Democrat/Marxist supermajority. It’s simply not true.

Scarcely reported at all are the Marxists’ countermeasures:

They will take whatever Sinema and Manchin give them, as expressed in dollars, and simply use the money to fund the entire array of their insane, giveaway, “free stuff” programs for a shorter interval of time.

Marxists are evil . . . but they are not at all stupid. Consider how well this strategy worked with Obamacare. Once the masses receive their freebies they are loathe to give them up. And the Democrat/Marxists are well aware of this fact.

Later attempts presumably by a Republican majority in Congress, to scale back the giveaways, will be met with howls of Marxist protest and concurrent press condemnation. And you can always rely on a few Republican jackasses, i.e. those of John McCain’s ilk, to vote with the Democrats.

Bottom line, the Democrat/Marxists do not need the full $3.5T to destroy our country. They can transform America into a socialist paradise for as little as a trillion and a half. And their two recalcitrant Senators will be happy to vote for that while proclaiming how careful they are with our tax dollars.

Couric RBG disclosure offers still more proof of extraordinary media bias

Here is one more story you will not hear reported on the nightly news.

Couric has finally disclosed Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s scathing criticism, way back in 2016, of Colin Kaepernick. She did so, in a book she wrote, in order to hype sales of the book and put more money into her own pocket.

Former Today show host Katie Couric is facing strong criticism after she revealed she had edited out part of an interview with the late Supreme Court Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

In her new memoir, Going There, Couric admits that she edited out part of Ginsburg’s comments about kneeling for the national anthem that the justice made during an interview in 2016.

Ginsburg had said anthem protesters showed “contempt for a government that has made it possible for their parents and grandparents to live a decent life” in remarks that were not included in the published story by Yahoo! News.

Some social media users took to Twitter on Wednesday and criticized Couric’s decision to edit out Ginsburg’s comments.

Natalie Shure, a columnist with New Republic, tweeted: “Completely indefensible for Katie Couric to withhold this from the public to protect a sitting Supreme Court Justice

Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) also shared a storyabout the matter.

“Katie Couric deems RBG ‘unworthy’ because she wasn’t sufficiently woke. Ridiculous,” the senator tweeted.

Cruz was referring to Couric’s description of Ginsburg’s comments about football players taking the knee during the national anthem. The late justice had called taking the knee “dumb and disrespectful” and Couric believed those remarks were “unworthy of a crusader for equality.” However, those comments were included in the published story.

Maybe we need more of these types of things to emphasize how far off the deep end the progressive authoritarians have gone.

“If RBG were alive today, she’d be a Republican”
“If RBG were alive today, she’d be on a domestic terrorist watchlist”

Cover up by local authorities only partially successful

While the American mainstream media is entirely on board with the cover up, some news of this violence is nevertheless emerging. And the role of the Biden Justice Department is as outrageous as all the other abuses Biden currently is perpetrating.

They both look happy so I’m happy for 'em. People, all people, deserve to be happy.

I just hope the twins end up being happy. Must wish for the best.

That’s all fine, and I agree. But as note asked, why the contrived setting in a hospital bed? That is innately unnatural, because clearly neither of them are in the hospital due to giving birth.

I think it goes in the category of “trying to hard”.

Yeah. Weird if true. Am not 100% certain that’s a hospital bed.
