The 2022 election politics

The left-wing media are going to spin that this guy is a Republican but no way.

Linda Schneider, who has known Depape for years, told CNN that he once lived in a storage unit and had done hard drugs. She later received “really disturbing” emails where Depape sounded like a “megalomaniac and so out of touch with reality,” she told the cable news network. She stopped communicating with him “because it seemed so dangerous,” adding to CNN that he used “Biblical justification to do harm.”

Laura Hayes worked with Depape making hemp bracelets years ago.

“He was very odd. He didn’t make eye contact very well,” Hayes said to CNN, adding that he told her “he talks to angels and there will be a hard time coming.”

Edit.
Yep. The left media is in full-blown blame it on the Republicans spin mode.

The election in Brazil is today Sunday, October 30, 2022

Edit.

The left will probably steal it like they did here in 2020. If they do, Brazil will be the next Cuba or Venezuela.

Being unable or unwilling to accept reality helps nobody. Lula won by a very narrow margin; just a little over 1 million votes over Bolsonaro.

https://www.reuters.com/world/americas/brazil-votes-heated-bolsonaro-vs-lula-presidential-runoff-2022-10-30/

I was hoping Bolsonaro would win, but he didn’t. Harder times are ahead for Brazil.

Brazil uses automated voting systems such as those that were subject to fraud here in 2020. Bolsonaro recognized the peril but was unable to change it
https://news.yahoo.com/brazil-election-voting-machines-lead-082049337.html

Well, as I said, not admitting reality helps nobody. I guess Lula, who is in the opposition, somehow controls the machines that count votes and seeded results to win.

Countries with large segments of poor, desperate people are bound to vote for “change” and “the left” very often. They incorrectly believe the candidate in the opposition will give them some magic solution to their problems. Even more so if the candidate spews the mantra of “I’m going to take from the evil rich to give to the deserving poor.”

Lula won, and the machines didn’t help him.

It looks like in Brazil, just as with Trump here in the US, there’s a political swamp that is opposed to Bolsonaro

Speaking of courts, the US Supreme Court will take up a case on state courts overruling the legislature in setting up elections, which is plainly unconstitutional.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/politics/biden-administration-urges-supreme-court-to-reject-extraordinarily-disruptive-theory-in-major-elections-case/ar-AA13rixl

Republican lawmakers argue that the state court did not have the authority to adopt the new maps because, in the federal elections context, legislatures have unique power derived from the Elections Clause of the U.S. Constitution. That provision gives state legislatures the power to set the “time, place and manner” in which federal elections are held in that state. Versions of that argument were pressed by former President Donald Trump and his allies in 2020 in challenging changes to election procedures made by courts during the Covid pandemic and also as part of their unsuccessful efforts to overturn the results of the presidential election.

Predictions and polls and comparisons to betting markets.

Red wave, the OR edition.

Homelessness is the number one issue among Oregon voters, particularly in Portland, followed by drugs and crime. The gubernatorial race has become a referendum on political leaders’—and, really, Democrats’—handling of these issues, and on the general deterioration that has taken place on their watch.

Signs of that deterioration are everywhere.

They love Portland for the same reason most people love Portland. “The downtown area is filled with history and a variety of restaurants, shops, theaters, and an awesome Saturday Market on the Waterfront,” Donewald said of the Portland she knew a few years ago. Now, she said, downtown Portland “looks like a war zone.”

Carillo has been a lifelong Democrat. Now he’s not so sure. “It’s single-party control,” he told me. “Things are going downhill: inflation, crime, homelessness, addiction, overdoses. Here in Oregon, look outside—you see the homelessness, people dying in the streets from overdoses, people having psychotic breaks. It’s in shambles right now. It wasn’t always like this.”

and just like here people would rather believe the system is rigged rather than admitting loss.

Funny thing is the poor complain that economic system is rigged (it’s not), but the powerful complain the electoral system is rigged (it is with 1 person, 1 vote to the poor)

Another close election. If Bibi wins, he will push back strongly against the Bidenista sellout to Iran.

Edit
It looks like BIbi has the lead but the Israeli political system is hard to understand

as the votes were counted, it became clear that certain left-wing parties that were expected to pass the threshold would not do so, giving the right-wing bloc a larger majority. The national voter turnout on Tuesday was 71.3 percent, the highest since 2015.
As officials begin tallying the final ballots cast by members of the security forces, prisoners, people with disabilities, and diplomats serving abroad, these figures may change. However, a significant shift in the number of seats held by Netanyahu’s coalition and its opponents is unlikely.

So if the Democrats lose then it’s due to misinformation. Probably due to that evil Musk

Read the article and didn’t see anything related to Twitter or Musk. In fact, the article exposes how the Dems have been relying too much on the abortion issue rather than addressing the economy. Trouble is, inflation is greatly the result of printing and having inflated federal budgets. Both parties are responsible for that but the Dems share a larger share of responsibility.

You were taking my comment too literally. The Musk comment was a joke.

Newsom has raised huge $$ so he can get out whatever message he wants. The problem for him and the Democrats is the voters are not (apparenty) buying what they are selling.

The problems for the Democrats are not just the economy. For example, in Pennsylvania, Oz is gaining on Fetterman in the polls due to crime. also, in New York, Zeldin is gaining on Hochul in part due to crime.

I am not comfortable with the polls so who knows how the election will turn out? There’s still plenty of room for the Democrats to cheat.

More on the Israeli election. It is a good sign that the left-wing news media are getting unhinged.

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/netanyahu-will-form-extreme-right-wing-government-after-israeli-election-victory/ar-AA13FiUg

Israel’s Channel 12 reported Thursday that the Central Elections Committee is giving a narrow majority to Nentanyahu and his Likud-led government.

Netanyahu’s bloc is expected to pick up 64 out of 120 seats in the Israeli parliament, known as the Knesset, according to Channel 12.

Edit. Looks like Bibi wins

Yet there are serious doubts, including among Democrats, whether Biden’s doomsday portrayal of Republicans has broken through as stubborn inflation and pocketbook issues weigh on voters. Some in the party say Democrats should have touched more on economic concerns earlier in the campaign and less about restoring abortion rights, which dominated Democratic ads for much of the race, in part on the advice of the “governing consulting class.”

Edit. Here in California in the only competitive state wide race, for controller, the democrat Cohen has been running a huge number of ads on abortion against the Republican Chen. The controller is a green eyeshade financial auditor position. Nothing to do with abortion. Chen’s Pitch is that he will do a better job of auditing the Democrats who run the state. Chen has gotten endorsements from the major newspapers in the state, who of course are leftist. The state’s voting system is corrupt with mail in ballots blanketing the state, ballot harvesting, and registering on election day. The results won’t be in until a month after election Day.
