High inflation hits everybody, whether in the middle class or not. As I mentioned in the Roe v. Wade thread, the most important issue for the voting masses is personal financial outlook.

Before they’re even done fighting among themselves in Pennsylvania, now the Republicans are engaging in a nasty political food fight in Alabama:

Meanwhile the Dems, united behind their “destroy America” agenda, just keep on rolling right along.

From the above article:

“We look at this country and don’t recognize it right now. Unfortunately, under the Biden administration, every single thing in this nation is moving in the wrong direction,” Britt said during a speech to the Republican Women of East Alabama.

Well for certain, that much she got right.

The turtle is certainly not helping things. He’s afraid that Brooks will actually fight back against the Democrats.

Alabama’s Future, a PAC opposing Brooks, has received $2 million from a Mitch McConnell-aligned PAC.

Trump has lost my vote in the 2024 primaries for his bad judgment

Trump withdrew the endorsement of Brooks in March after their relationship soured. Trump cites Brooks’ languishing performance and accused the conservative congressman of going “woke” for saying it was time to move on from the 2020 presidential outcome and focus on upcoming elections.

Never voted for Trump in a primary. Never shall.

But against any Democrat, Trump is my man!!

Trump’s 2022 Vendetta Tour

Introduction and disclaimer:

There is no topic the far left WaPo enjoys covering more than dissension within Republican ranks. And Tuesday’s Georgia Republican gubernatorial primary offers plenty of that, pitting Trump against Pence. However:

It’s also true Trump is unable to let go of his 2020 election failure. And it must be tough for him, as it is for me, constantly to hear the mainstream media barking and carrying on about Trump’s “false victory claims”. The reality about 2020, which neither side will come anywhere near admitting, is that it’s impossible to know who really won. But Biden is POTUS and Trump simply cannot accept that or shut up about 2020 either.

I hearken back to the 1960 election. Nixon arguably had a rock solid claim to victory, given the cheating in Illinois. But Nixon backed off and conceded “for the good of the country”. Trump could learn from that example, but it’s not in his New York City nature to do so. And of course Nixon went on to win election as POTUS twice in the future. 1960 simply was not his year. Again, Trump could learn from this but he never will.

The piece:

So now we have this WaPo hit piece targeting both Trump and Republicans generally . . . . business as usual at the wildly biased WaPo. I wish Trump did not provide them opportunity to write stuff like this. But he is like a dog with a bone between his teeth he simply is unable to let go:

Exactly right. It’s only controversial if you’re a confirmed Marxist.

Course nearly all WaPo employees meet that standard!

Comment on the Tuesday primary elections:

It’s tough finding any coverage at all. What the media wants to cover, instead, are the Texas shootings.

But what coverage there is focuses only on races where MAGA primary candidates lost. Victories by Trump supported candidates go all but unreported.

This sort of “reporting” by the USA mainstream media is so typical. They are not reporting. They are campaigning on behalf of their despicable liberal socialist agenda.

Interesting Pennsylvania wrinkle

The setup:

It’s a Republican primary fight so you figure Democrats are not involved. Right?

No, that’s wrong.

Here is why:

There are a lot of mail-in ballots. The Pennsylvania Constitution demands/specifies they be dated. A great many are not dated (voter error).

Pennsylvania mail-in ballots generally have been favoring McCormick. So McCormick goes to Federal Court demanding the undated ballots be counted regardless. The Feds agree. Oz of course is opposed.

Suddenly out of nowhere magically appears the Pennsylvania Secretary of State, a DEMOCRAT. She is with McCormick. She is like: “F the Pennsylvania Constitution, count the undated ballots!”.

So of course you want to know why this (supposedly) uninvolved Democrat is inserting herself into a Republican controversy. Does she think McCormick is the weaker candidate? Maybe. But here is the real answer:

This Secretary of State woman is a typical “to hell with the rules, with law, and with the state Constitution”, count every vote, Democrat. She is speaking out for McCormick because, come the general election in the fall, she wants pre-established precedent for the counting of undated mail-in votes cast by her dumb as a post Democrat voters!

And that is why a high ranking Democrat is inserting herself into a too-close-to-call Republican primary.

By the way, word on the street is this dispute could go to the SCOTUS. It will be interesting to learn whether or not they will uphold the Pennsylvania Constitution.

By “the Feds” do you mean a federal judge? Did a federal court order the undated ballots to be counted?

Yes. At least that is my best understanding. The decision was at a Federal Court level as opposed to a state court. I don’t have all the details. I’m anticipating appeals.
