Meanwhile here I sit, well north of 75 with comorbidities to burn, in rural America with no vaccine even close. There is not a dull moment in this life.
I donāt think anyone would honestly argue that rural America is well-served in terms of access to medical services.
What state are you in? I canāt think of any that arenāt vaccinating people over 70 right now. Of course, youād have to be willing to drive to any location in your state. No guarantee of it being close.
Of course there are states where older folks are not getting vaccines. In fact probably many states that are not getting near enough quantities. Iām in CA, & few people getting vaccinated.
Well, yes, of course that is the issue. I mean, sure, there are vaccinations ongoing in my state. But there is no outreach whatsoever to a great many rural areas. That is why I mentioned the Amazon region of Brazil, which surely is even more rural than where I live . . . . . but where the pandemic is nevertheless being addressed.
Just because few people are getting vaccinated near you, doesnāt mean that āfew people are getting vaccinatedā. You only know 1 person, but I know SIX just in my extended family, some of whom already received the 2nd dose (all in CA).

Donāt blame Texas - itās Houston. The place where you pay an attorney 100 bucks for a speeding ticket, and forget about it ā¦ well, forty years ago. Maybe itās 200 bucks today.
Also, since this story is in the rag of record, itās quite possible, the doc was selling the vaccine so that he could finance terrorism, or just trying to assert his white privilege.

Lived in NYState for 72 yearsā¦ Lived in Ct for a few of those years. NYC and NY State are totally racist and only care about black and brown folks getting the vaccine. Cuomo is an ahole from day 1. I live in Putnam Co NY. White man and so is the wife, also 70y/o. had to spend 3 hours at 3AM 2 weeks ago on 2 desktops, a smart phone, and a laptop to score vaccine appts. And the only place within 200 miles of me is the Weschester County Center. All the following counties are 90% white. Westchester/Putnam/Dutchess/Greene/Columbia/Ulster/most of Orange/Sullivan etc. We have to drive to WCounty Center if you can even get an appt.
So gov is making us go through hell to get the vaccine via his idiotic appt system. When we got to the County center, 100% white people waiting for their appts. Took 1/2 hour from start to waiting time to finish. National Guard kept it orderly as did NYState Police. Entire staff of nursesā¦EMTās and clerks Police national Guuard all white. NY make folks like me turn into conservatives. BUT Gov and mayor of NYC have set up tons of vaccination centers in black areas/ghettos/illegal immigrant areas of the state, including black churches and local medicaid mills. Whites need not apply. And Deblasio was railing against the white people in the Bronx who showed up with appts as Bronx residents at Yankee Stadium for the vaccine. Saw it on Tv. he and gov are distressed that whites are are getting vaccine in black area!!!

My parents are in Dutchess County. They had to drive to Syracuse to get my mom the vaccine.
Iām with you partially. The Mid Hudson Valley got screwed in terms of the NYS mass vaccination center locations, and it is true that this area is very white. But, in terms of race, they have two distribution points in the North Country (Potsdam and Plattsburgh), one in Utica, and another in Johnson City. None of those areas have significant minority population.
Most of my parents friends are going to private pharmacies - I believe the Rite Aid in Poughkeepsie has vaccine available. They all thought my parents were crazy that they were willing to drive to Syracuse.
The other area that got overlooked is the western portion of the Southern Tier. Jamestown, Olean, Hornell, and Elmira all have to travel up to Buffalo, Rochester, Syracuse, or Binghamton for a vaccine. This is a very white area as well.
Amazing how the Eastern part of the US is getting vaccine. Iām in CA & still very little vaccine available. Could our Democrat Gov be at fault?
So will we still be setting around 6 ft apart & masked when the whole country has become vaccinated?

well stated!! I got shot 1 at West CC on 2/12 and they give appt for 2nd shot (3/5). Wife goes to same place on 2/25. Glad you agree with me somewhat!! very well run BTW
