Who will join POTUS nominee Biden on the Democrat ticket as VP?

I haven’t been mentioned as a candidate.

In any case, I am casually dropping out of the race.

You don’t drop out. You “suspend” your campaign so you can continue to spend your prior contributions and any new ones that come in.

Off topic post

There is something a little wacky about posting off topic on an off topic board. And while this is off topic I hope you will agree it is not too far off the mark:

This thread is about the Democrat 2020 POTUS nominee. This post is about a possible Democrat 2020 VPOTUS nominee, namely Hillary Clinton. She is interested in the job! Here is more from The Hill:

The Hill boosts Hillary’s VPOTUS aspirations

Hillary is nothing if not a shrewd politician who desires more than anything to become POTUS. So she runs, let’s say, as Biden’s second banana, Biden passes, and Hillary amidst a sea of crocodile tears ascends to the big chair. If I’m sufficiently adroit to have figured that out, you can bet Hillary is miles ahead of me.

Of course this would not work if, for example, voters award Mayor Pete the nomination instead of Biden. Indeed, should any of our younger candidates here win out, Hillary’s POTUS dreams could so easily evaporate. And we know Bernie, were he to become the nominee, would never choose Hillary as his Veep. Those two do not get along.

It seems as if, bottom line, Biden is Hillary’s best shot. Let’s see if going forward she commences supporting him in a more vigorous manner.

Any prexy nominee who selects her for VP better hire a personal bodyguard and food taster in addition to the Secret Service. The over/under on an “unfortunate” Vince Foster/Jeff Epstein style Arkancide is 6 months and I will take the under

‘We’re flying blind’: Democrats floored by star-crossed primary

Yeah, whoda thunk it that the ultra-woke Democrats would set their rules to exclude all the candidates “of color” from the debate then change them again to include a short, white, Jewish billionaire who is buying his way onto the stage.

I am casually re-entering the race. I could stand in the middle of 5th Avenue and shoot somebody and wouldn’t lose any voters, ok? It’s, like, incredible.

That is completely false. I’m only voting for you if you do not shoot anyone in the street. Some things are best left to the privacy of your own home…

Okay, here’s the same disclaimer … Off topic post

Depending on who you listen to / believe, John Kerry’s name has popped up, but as a potential candidate, not VP hopeful. For those of you who don’t know John Kerry, the only thing I know is that he may have served in Vietnam.

Yes, it’s coming from NBC, but even a stopped clock …
Eavesdropping NBC reporter’s report

I am wrong again. Not for me the first or last time so, well, you sort of become accustomed to it. Nevertheless:

I thought they only did this to Trump. Am forced to reconsider. Now realize any politician anywhere close to the middle is targeted, even sweet Amy on the morning of her hoped-for good showing in Iowa. I mean, how long have they been holding onto this story, sitting on it and delaying disclosure until it could damage her the most, while offering her the least amount of time to respond and explain? The AP is such a total sack of crap:

Amy’s day to play target on the AP firing range

There is much discussion about the Democrats dropping their number of individual donors requirement so Bloomberg and Steyer can participate in the debates. The irony is that due to the sainted John McCain and Russ Feingold, these rich guys can donate $billions to their campaigns but a conservative like Dinesh D’souza went to jail for donating $10K to his friend’s campaign.

Is the memory the first to go? I’m sure you’ve heard of the phrase “October surprise”.

Also, I can’t compare this to what they’ve done to Trump until they’ve done it to her constantly for 3+ years.

Well this is a unique strategy - let everyone declare themselves the winner, then move on to the next state before there are any actual results.

I’m surely no Democrat. But the Democrat POTUS nominee is important to us all, regardless party affiliation. That person could ultimately become President of the United States of America . . . and that is a big deal.

Hence I view this Iowa debacle as a really bad thing for America, including everyone. I was hoping for an orderly process, as has been the case in the past over countless Iowa primary elections. Instead, whoever is running things there has seriously messed up.

I hope this is not a form of redux of the November 2016 POTUS general election. If you recall, there was a “dead period” then from roughly 10:00 pm ET until roughly 2:00 am ET when no new results were being reported and no winner had been declared. This was just following the shock of Trump’s apparent victory, and it appeared as if “higher powers” were taking time to decide if he would be allowed to win. If you recall from back then, Trump’s victory speech did not happen until the wee hours of the morning.

In the present case I hope the Democrats are not taking time to decide whether or not Bernie will be allowed his victory. It is impossible to know, of course. But this sort of thing impugns our election process and is very bad for America.

The people of America should decide elections, not any sort of higher powers or ruling elites. This goes whether it is Bernie, or Trump, or anyone else!

I was thinking more along the lines that there was meddling in advance of the results, it left some discrepancies, and someone (who wasnt “in the know”) inadvertently noticed and called out those discrepancies. Meaning we may actually get the “real” results instead of the planned results…

Iowa Democrats, right at this moment, surely have egg on their faces. But their salvation can emerge from this debacle if they play their cards wisely. Specifically:

Everyone is awaiting the Iowa Democrat primary outcome with baited breath. It is a HUGE deal. What if Iowa Democrats delay announcing their results until tonight during Trump’s SOTU address! They would be able to upstage POTUS and steal away a good bit of his treasured limelight.

I ask you: How cool and smart would that be!!

Iowa Democrats could turn a sow’s ear into a silk purse!

Creepy Joe Biden kissed his granddaughter, age 19, on the lips during an Iowa campaign event. See creepy Joe do the deed, here:

You cannot keep creepy Joe away from the young girls

What’s creepy is how some people feel the need to latch onto crap “stories” like this, like it’s somehow relevant to anything at all.

The only reason they release the results during the SOTU is if they’re trying to sweep the results under the rug.

What a relief!! :relaxed:

shinobi, you are doing an excellent job of keeping us all informed on 2020 D run. I appreciate it…

Plan is apparently 4pm today, but who knows, maybe they’ll have another “software glitch” and delay it unti the state of the union.
