Who will join POTUS nominee Biden on the Democrat ticket as VP?

If I did, I should not have done that here.

I do not feel asking where Biden is is disparagement. He has been out of sight for a while. It’s a fair question, not a criticism. I mean, the guy sort of dropped out of sight for goodness sake.

But I guess that has been answered now by zzz’s post, which appeared right after my own.

And then there’s your own commentary on how they’ll approach a campaign against Trump, which you are so adamant is inappropriate for this thread:

I mean, I could keep going but I think the point is made.

Well, you got me. A lot of that stuff (not all) is inappropriate here. Some you took out of context. Good job, though.

I will try to follow my own advice and post such comments over on the election politics thread. Which I am about to do, BTW.

glitch99, why do you like to keep posting this way? You spent so much time to prove your point. :rage:

Most of the follower’s here enjoy shinobi’s comments, regardless of the various post titles.

Thanks, pattyb53. Truth is, I sort of took glitch99’s passion as a compliment. He really did go out of his way to get me.

And please do not miss my latest post on the election politics thread.

You mean calling out hypocrisy? I couldnt care less about post titles, that’s Shinobi so ask him.

Yes and no. In some instances I was comparing Biden and Bernie, which is fair here, Democrat vs. Democrat. This is a Democrat thread and it is fair to compare.

But whenever my posts could be construed as putting Trump over Biden . . . well . . . I should not have posted like that here. The other thread is for Trump and November election politics, not this one.

You continue to miss the point - a little critical thinking will conclude that Trump is an unavoidable factor in any Democrat vs Democrat discussion. And unlike you, that’s all I have read into him being mentioned in this thread by anyone.

Besides, you’d think that my extended list of quotes was completely unprompted, and not a specific response to your hypocritical dismissal of much less provacative comments from others. Apparently “Biden clearly has dementia” is fine, while “The less Biden says, the less chance of him screwing up” is beating him up and dismembering him…

A factor, perhaps. But trying to avoid here Trump vs. Democrat comments and keep this intramural. Trump stuff belongs on the other thread.

The problem with trying to keep a fair “intramural” debate is that you’re clearly biased, and your bias keeps bubbling up regardless of how hard you try.

There are a few followers who enjoy shinobi’s comments, but I wouldn’t say most. We’d know better if we had :+1: and :-1: ratings instead of just .

No disagreement. But I’m trying hard and will make effort to do better in future. This is not the place to criticize Mr. Biden as compared with Trump. We have a perfectly good thread for that and this isn’t it.

All of that said, I am most curious to know whom Biden will choose as his VP. Guess we will not learn that for a while.

Fair enough.

I’ll wait until I’m uh, uh, … I’ll figure out some time when I can say something positive about him. Oh wait. He’s not as much … never mind. :face_with_head_bandage:

ETA: I presume this same level of moderation toward only Dem-on-Dem crime will keep the current President out of the thread.

It is becoming an increasingly difficult situation for the Democrats, precipitated in no small measure by the pandemic.

Vice President Biden has not been doing well in his recent personal appearances originating from his home. At the same time, Governor Cuomo is rapidly rising to Democrat superstar status. It is just that simple. There is an incipient draft Cuomo movement, but how to accomplish this given the existing pandemic circumstances?

No serious Democrat would question Governor Cuomo’s credentials as a highly authentic Democrat. He checks all the boxes. And in his many on screen appearances he comes across as smart, level-headed, and articulate. I have watched him personally. I am impressed by his leadership.

What the Democrats will do, how they will deal with this situation, I have no idea. But a great many of them today want Cuomo as their POTUS candidate.

The Herald addressed this matter yesterday, and in no uncertain terms:

Democrats are coming down with a sudden case of buyers’ remorse.

While Joe Biden stumbles around to wrap up the Democratic nomination, it’s another Democratic pol — New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo — who’s emerged as the No. 1 political star of the coronavirus era.

Cuomo is everything Biden is not — a strong orator who oozes leadership and decisiveness. He’s macho without being threatening or creepy.

The liberal New York governor’s daily press briefings have become appointment viewing on the national cable outlets like CNN and MSNBC — and even Fox News.

Yes, it can happen — if the coronavirus crisis continues to worsen and Biden continues to flounder. It would take a series of seemingly unlikely series of events to make Cuomo the nominee.

Biden’s victories on Super Tuesday and Super Tuesday 2 put him on the path toward the nomination but the former vice president virtually disappeared when the crisis began to take a turn for the worse. He has struggled to become relevant in the past few weeks, appearing on soft shows like “The View” and delivering a strange livestream speech in his library that did not inspire optimism.

“We have to take care of the cure,” Biden said in another of his nonsensical ramblings. “That will make the problem worse no matter what.”

Maybe Cuomo is the ideal VP choice?

It certainly would not be the first time voters of a particular party wished their ticket were inverted. I’m thinking of the 2008 Republican ticket when I write that.

Seeing his recent leadership, I think Cuomo has too many balls to be Biden’s VP.

Then he may not be Mario’s son. :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

Cuomo gave a good speech too.

Who the heck wrote that, Ronald Reagan? Worded incredibly well, and if he’s like his dad, delivered very well. His delivery is so much better than Fredo’s.

Listen and Believe, the Biden edition, finally getting some coverage.
